Curriculum Vitae

Jared joined the Department of Landscape Architecture as an instructor in 2017 after completing his Master research on the interface of urban development and playa lake ecosystems in the Southern High Plains. As a graduate student, he received the Helen DeVitt Jones Excellence in Graduate Teaching award for his work with undergraduate student education within the department, and he has continued to work hard to ensure entering landscape architecture students receive a strong foundation in design education and the history of the profession. Jared is active in both professional practice and public leadership, serving as the chairperson of the Urban Design and Historic Preservation Commission for the City of Lubbock.
