Energy Commerce and Business Economics
Excellence In:
Land Analysis & Acquisitions
Marketing/Commercial Analysis
Business Development
Risk Management & Trading
Through the Area of Energy Commerce and Business Economics, students can earn an energy
commerce degree, preparing them for careers directly and indirectly related to the
energy industry. While primarily concentrating on the upstream (exploration and production),
midstream (transportation and refining) and downstream (wholesale and retail distribution)
commercial and operations functions of the oil and gas industry, students examine
the increasingly important role of alternative and clean energy sources. In addition
to extensive academic research and publication, our award-winning faculty bring a
wealth of energy industry experience to the classroom and teach highly marketable
skills through hands-on experiential opportunities, case studies and simulation projects.
Graduates are prepared to succeed in many areas of the energy business, including
land negotiations, commercial analysis, business development and energy trading.
