The AACSB–accredited STEM MBA at Rawls College is designed to prepare individuals with an undergraduate degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics related field to become managers, business leaders and entrepreneurs. Career-Defining Curriculum
Through our innovative curriculum, you will learn how to connect theory to real-world experiences, refine your leadership skills and develop a strong business acumen. Courses in the STEM MBA program will enable you to overcome three common types of uncertainty often encountered in the business world: informational, relational and resource uncertainty. Through the STEM MBA Integrative Project, a unique learning experience, you will transform your STEM background into business opportunities. You will work as part of an interdisciplinary group to take product ideas from conception, through development, and to the launch stage while seamlessly integrating business and technology principles.

program format
The Rawls College STEM MBA is a 42-credit-hour, lock-step, accelerated program. Courses are offered in a condensed format of either five or eight weeks, allowing you to earn your degree in as little as one year. Students are enrolled in two condensed courses simultaneously, for a total of four courses per semester. Coursework must be completed sequentially, as concepts build upon each other. The STEM MBA Program is not STEM OPT eligible and only qualifies for 1-year of OPT extension for a total of 12 months of OPT.

The admission process is the first step toward earning your degree. We will work closely with you to ensure your application process is personal, simple and successful. There is no better time to begin your STEM MBA than now. We offer options to start in August, June or January, giving you the power to begin when you are ready.
Application Requirements
Applicants must have a bachelor's degree in a STEM-related field.
Texas Tech students who have 12 hours or less remaining to complete their STEM undergraduate degree can contact the Office of Graduate and Professional Programs to determine if they can take two STEM MBA classes prior to graduation.
A complete application consists of the following items, to be received by the noted deadlines:
Unofficial Transcripts
Applicants must submit unofficial transcripts from any degree-awarding college or university, as well as any post-secondary institution attended. A transcript is not required for institutions from which you did not earn a degree.
Resume
Applicants must submit a detailed current resume, indicating professional work experience—including start and end dates (month and year) for each position held. Provide accomplishments and skills acquired, including managerial experience.
Letters of Recommendation
Applicants are required to submit two formal letters of recommendation. The letters should provide specific examples and anecdotes that illustrate your professional and/or academic potential.
Essays
Applicants must complete five short-answer questions. Responses to short-answer questions must be less than 150 words.

Question 1: Why do you want to earn an MBA? Why now?
Question 2: Suppose you were asked to do something unethical. Explain how you would handle the situation.
Question 3: Suppose you are a leader of a team working on a complex project. What qualities would you bring to the team?
Question 4: Describe how the business knowledge attained during the program will complement your background.
Question 5: What does the admissions committee need to know while considering your application? Tell us the part of your story that is not in the application documents.
GMAT Scores
GMAT scores are considered invalid if they are more than five years old. The GMAT requirement can be waived for Texas Tech STEM majors with a cumulative 3.0 institutional GPA or higher.

English Proficiency for International Students
All international applicants must provide proof of English proficiency before their applications can be considered for admission. Only your most recent measure of English proficiency is considered for admission purposes. This test is waived only for graduates of U.S. universities or universities in English proficiency-exempt countries. Applicants who have completed at least two consecutive years at a college or university in the U.S. or in an English proficiency-exempt country, are also exempt from the English proficiency requirement.
Priority Application Deadlines
While applications will still be accepted after the priority deadline, those received beforehand will receive higher consideration for admission and scholarships. Applications submitted after the priority deadline will be reviewed in the order received, assuming space is available in your program of interest.

Summer Entry: May 1
International students are encouraged to apply at least six months in advance when possible.
